18"d Hardwood Shelf Inserts

Made from domestic hardwoods which are harvested locally in the heart of the Catskill Mountains in New York, these wooden tops give your wire shelving an entirely different look. All of the species we use are self-sustaining and non-endangered, so you can enjoy a green solution for your storage.

Care

Catskill Craftsmen suggests inserts be oiled with 100% pure mineral oil once a week for three weeks and then once a month for three months. Afterwards, you can continue to oil whenever the surface appears to be lighter in color or to be drying out. You cannot over oil the wood. Please read here for more info from the manufacturer.

So heavy and gorgeous to look at that I didn't want to take it out of the wrapper to use.  The butcher block shelf liner is the most solidly and well crafted piece of wood that I've seen in a long time.  I needed to create a combination computer printer and kitchen storage unit yet needed something secure under the printer.  The wood shelf was very accurately measured and fit right in.  This shelf

The wood shelf top fits perfectly on the shelf, looks good, and is well constructed. If you want an easy, clean solution to turn a shelf into a work surface, this is a good way to go.
